Our commitment
Altavida Gynecology is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is part of how we practice care — unhurried, personal, and built around you — and we extend that same intention to the digital front door of our practice.
We treat accessibility as a baseline of every page we build, not a fix applied afterward, and we review it as the site grows.
Our conformance target
We measure our website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA — the standard widely recognized by regulators and the courts. "Partially conformant" means most of the site meets the standard, with a small number of known exceptions we are actively addressing.
What we've put in place
Measures already built into the website include:
- Keyboard access to every link, button, and control
- A clearly visible focus indicator wherever you tab
- A "Skip to main content" link on every page
- Proper headings and landmarks for screen-reader navigation
- Form fields with real labels and in-text error messages
- Text and interface contrast that meets AA thresholds
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images
- Layouts that reflow and stay usable at 200% zoom
- A light / dark theme and reduced-motion support
- An on-page accessibility toolbar for contrast and link emphasis
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas may not yet be fully accessible. We're aware of the following and are working to improve them:
- Third-party tools. Our online scheduling, patient portal, and embedded map are provided by outside vendors. Their accessibility is not fully under our control — if any of them blocks you, please call us at 813-733-7300 and we will help directly.
- Embedded map. The interactive location map relies on a third-party service; the same address and directions are always available as plain text on our contact page.
- Older documents & media. Some previously published files may lack full accessibility markup. We will remediate or replace these on request.
How we test
We combine automated checks (such as axe and Lighthouse) with manual review — keyboard-only navigation, screen-reader testing, and checks at high zoom and narrow widths. No automated tool catches everything, so your real-world feedback matters and shapes what we fix next.
Send us feedback
Did you run into a barrier on this site, or need information in a different format? Tell us — we treat accessibility problems as a priority and aim to respond within two business days.
When you write, it helps to include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using — but a quick note in your own words is always welcome.
